when looking for a job is it ok to send your cv out to places that haven't actually stated they are in need of staff, if you see what i mean?? I'm looking for a job for january so i thought if i sent my cv to a couple of places now then if something came up they could let me know?hope that makes sense. Any advice,/ suggestions would be helpful thanks.

Yes, it's recommended. Coz sometimes the employer is thinking of hiring but he haven't made his decision final. And your CV at that time makes his procrastination vanish and the ball is in your favor.

Reply:I have years of experience with hiring people. It is perfectly fine to send what they call "unsolicited" resumes to a company. Since you are looking for a job in January I suggest making an investment in your future by getting a good interview skills book and role playing with a friend.
