Unfortunately, only he can do it. How? By going to a counselor, or other mental health professional. Depression skews ones whole outlook on life, and anything you say will probably be distorted. Do your best make him feel loved and important. Suggest, but don't nag about getting help...

Reply:I have an electrical engineering degree, and it's doing me no good anymore in the job market. I am going back to school for degrees (a B.A. and an M.S.) in a totally different direction. Maybe he, too, should kiss engineering goodbye and pursue a different career. ;)
Reply:It's not an easy thing to do, you can talk to him.But you can't force him to go to a Dr and get help or anything like that.I have a brother that has went through cancer but is an artist,now all he does is sit around doing nothing.he is 33 years old no life at all. sometimes with an illness even depression they feel like giving up,they have to find something worth going on for.
Reply:You should get him to talk to sum 1. My cousin Aussie had the same job same prob and he took his own life. You should really get your bro sum help.
