Hi- beware survey scams. They charge you to enter. Some will give you opportunities to enter sweepstakes. Sometimes, near the beginning, you might even score $5-$10 but meanwhile they are gaining loads of info on you and your family.

Right now in North America there are loads of places looking for young workers. Unless you are in a rarer location this will be true for you.

1. You can just look at windows of shops/fast-food places as you walk by. Many just put up little ads there.

2. Listen to people at school. Where do they work? You can even find info about places there but be careful.... do you really trust that person's opinion?

3. Figure out IN ADVANCE (work with parent/guardian on this) how many hours MAX. per week (anything over 10 usually kills schoolwork), the number of shifts you would take, possible transportation ideas. This will give you a big edge in an interview and will help[ prevent future problems. Here's a good little article-

4. Parent/Neighbors/People at Church etc. all have possible contacts. Ask, even if it seems hard at first.
Reply:Can you take the heat and humidity? If so, you might want to try a job at a dry cleaner.
Reply:Try babysitting.

Check in your area to take a Red Cross CPR class. They're usually either free or cost very little to complete.

You're at a decent age where parents will trust you. You get paid in cash and there are no taxes. You also have flexible hours because you can choose whether or not you can sit on a particular day. Try to find someone who needs a sitter on a regular basis.

But, you do have to be a certain kind of person to babysit. It requires a good deal of patience.
