Where can I find a good looking but affordable women's suit for a job interview?

I need a suit to get a job to pay for the suit I will probably never wear again. Go figure. There are no Burlington Coat Factories around here. Not that the last one I perused even had any women's suits. I've been looking at Target and Kohls online but I'm not going to waste the gas climbing the mountains around here if these "career separates" will not pass as a suit together. Why are there always men's suit sections, but NEVER ANY WOMEN'S?????? There are men's suits links, but for women it's called other things, or doesn't exist. Blargh! Is it worth it to pursue these career separates and hope that they are just suits but sold as separate pieces (the pants and matching jacket are on different racks from eachother?). I cannot tell from looking online. Anyone know anything? Does anywhere sell women's suits?? There is Target, Kohls, JC Penny, Sears, Bonton, and I actually think that is it for the stores out here. Any wisdom is appreciated.

Reply:Pennys.
Reply:JC Pennys is a great place. You can buy the pieces seperatly if you want and they always seem to have a sale going on. Recently, my mom bought a pair of slacks for about $25 and a nice shell top to go under the blazar for $15.
Reply:I've seen some really nice suits at Goodwill for under $15. The only problem for me was that they were too small. Also, try consignment shops. They usualy have nicer, newer style clothes that are supposed to be cheaper than regular stores. (Last year a lawyer freind who is taller than my six feet gave me a bunch of her old work clothes that she didn't think she would fit into again. This included a gray pin striped pants suit, a navy blue suit with pants and a skirt, a black suit with both pants and skirt, and a gray suit with both pants and skirt. Ironically, I was a housewife at the time, and now, pregnant with our first child, I'll be staying home for awhile. Eh. At least I have nice suits for Sunday morning.)

Do you need a full fleged suit? Could something like a skirt and a coordinating jacket (like a gray skirt with a black jacket) work? It may not be the best, perhaps, but it's better than nothing. Besides, even if you're just interviewing at McDonald's and go in with something like that, you will score points. (Although if I were interviewing at Wal-Mart or Target, I would wear a full skirt suit, unless it's a really cold day in winter, then I would go with the pants.)

Anyway, I hope this helps.

Reply:Target is actually great for putting together separates for a suit or an outfit. If you are not ordering it on-line I would suggest that you call the Target store ahead of time to ensure they have you desired items in stock. And if you are ordering on-line at Target.com pay attention to the material and color listed, try to stick with the same brand for each separate, and I would suggest that you get the separates in Black, because there's almost a guaranteed that the separates will match together. Even if only from afar.

Plus every woman should have a black blazer, black pants, and/or black pencil skirt in their wardrobe. Good Luck!
Reply:I bought a really nice 2 piece dress suit at Kohl's for under $30 in the Juniors dept. and I have seen some nice suits at Sears and JC Penny's. I am not sure if you are looking for misses, juniors, women's sizes but you usually find the nicer matching suit sets in the women's dept. You may have to actually go check it out at the store its just not the same looking on-line. The plus side is you can search the clearance racks for the best prices. If you want women's clothes JC Penny's and Sears are best. If you want a younger looking or Junior/Misses then Kohl's and Target are best. Hope that helps. Have fun shopping and good luck on your interview.
Reply:Relax, just look in your mother's closet, and "hash" something together.
